stickers to be distributed by me and others (you?) they go with the overlooked/ supporting the little guy part of Mom & Pop’s inspiration. non-specific to location. thoughts?
SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESSES STICKERS

I’m not feeling the partial hairline thing so much. I think the version of the logo that has a circle around it would work well, or the ones here with the black circle.
I think I would like all of these more without the inside circle, especially the ones that have an additional off-center circle. The thing I love about your logo is how simple it is and how it has such a classic look to it.
I don’t really like the ones with the black circle on the inside, maybe because it pops too much and the subtleness of your original logo is what I think is helping it. I would say my favorite would be #9 if going left to right, left to right. I would however remove the inner, off-center 3/4 circle-line, and move the arched-type a bit more toward the center, I really like the slight yellow edge that bleeds past the black outline though.
Another thought, maybe try something that has a different look from your logo as the sticker, but somehow still relates to your logo and imagery.
I like the yellow stickers, generally they seem to stand out and are bright. I think that having “support your local” and “small businesses” in two different type styles breaks them apart, makes them not read as one phrase as easily. Im not sure which style is better though, I think they both work, maybe not together like this though.
And i’ll gladly distribute stickers.
i like #9. i just don’t feel bright yellow for this; i know the yellow helps the sticker stand out from other things. i don’t know if you really need inner circle lines. maybe try some color that’s less poppy?
i agree with grant about your original logo, i like the simplicity of it, so maybe the lines, color and different typefaces make these seems a little too complex.
Hey Sarah,
I think the arch looks much better! I would try spacing the letters out even further, and possibly bring the font size down a point or half a point.
I’d also try a few more combos:
1) “Support Your Local” is in all caps and “Small Businesses” is in all lowercase
2) all in lowercase (light weight)
3) all in lowercase (heavy weight)
4) all in uppercase (light weight)
5) all in uppercase (heavy weight)
Also, the rules are throwing me off when they’re too close to the letters or when they’re fragmented and they don’t make a full circle. I think the thick rule on the outer edge and thing rule on the inside could work if you keep the spacing consistent. Also–did you try a dotted rule, something that would look closer to a notary seal, like these: http://images.google.com/images?q=notary%20seals&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi
just a thought.
as for color, I think the black bkgd still holds up very well… it’s graphically striking and compliments the logo the best. I don’t think it needs to be rethought but I understand the instinct to use some sort of offbeat color. In that sense, if you want to go there maybe you could look at some more interesting spot colors, like a neon color or even a metallic. it might get pricey, but it would be interesting to see if you had another color that you could really own.
there is something nice/modest abut a blue color, too. not cyan or corporate looking blue, maybe cornflower or something in the pastel vein. ??
these are great comments, thank you all so much!
